Pertamina, Telkomsel team up to develop digital fuel management. State-owned oil and gas holding company Pertamina and Telkomsel, a subsidiary of state-owned telecommunication company PT Telkom Indonesia, have cooperated to develop a digital-based fuel management system.
The cooperation, which is based on a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed on March 22 between Telkomsel and Pertamina Patra Niaga (PPN), a Pertamina downstream subsidiary, will involve developing intelligent tank monitoring (INTANK).
Telkomsel senior vice president for enterprise account management Dharma Simorangkir said INTANK was a remote tank-monitoring system that made possible anytime monitoring of fuel inventories and consumption.
“This is part of Telkomsel’s support for the government’s roadmap on Industry 4.0 in which the technology, particularly the information and telecommunication technology, is a key factor in improving competitiveness,” Dharma said in a press statement received on Friday.
With INTANK, PPN will be able to monitor fuel stocks stored at all terminals. The device is equipped with sensors on distribution routes and CCTV at all transfer points.
Dharma said INTANK would optimize the operation of digital solutions already used by PPN, called Smart Mobile Tank (Smart MT), to monitor fuel distribution and consumption.
He said INTANK had been in trial operation at a cement company and two mining companies. Pertamina, Telkomsel team up to develop digital fuel management (bbn,The Jakarta Post)
