Duljatmono, the sales and marketing manager of Mitsubishi’s sole Indonesian agent, PT Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors (KTB), said the compatibility of Mitsubishi Fuso products with biodiesel fuels has been enhanced since 2016.

Since then, double-filter technology has been installed for the fuel tanks of diesel vehicles to make them compatible with B20 fuel.

“In the last two years, there have been no problems for our customers about our vehicles’ compatibility with B20,” he added as quoted by kontan.co.id on Thursday.

The sales and marketing director of PT Hino Motors Sales Indonesia, Santiko Wardoyo, made similar comments, saying that Hino Motors had used triple filters and water separator technology to help made vehicles compatible with B20 fuel.

“Since 2016, Hino had conducted research and developed technology to make the products compatible with B20 fuels,” Santiko said, adding that from the performance point of view the customers did not complain about the use of B20.

However, he added that the customers complained about finding an increase of residue in the fuel filters, making vehicles owners more frequently replace the filters than if they used 100 percent fossil fuel.

Santiko said Hino Motors promotes the use of B20 to the customers on many occasions. “Any time we had gathering events with customers, we always informed them about the B20 fuels and how to carry out maintenance,” he added.

He said Hino Motors would research how to develop technology to make the filters work more efficiently. Automobile producers adapt their vehicles to B20 fuels (bbn, The Jakarta Post)
