The mobile application would accommodate consumers, who mainly accessed the website from smartphones, said Printerous CEO Kevin Osmond in Jakarta on Thursday.

Through this application, users could upload photos into the Printerous system directly from their smartphones and these could be printed onto several products such as phone cases and tote bags, he added.

“After a few years studying the market, we see that about 50 percent of the users of our website access the service from mobile browsers. Therefore, we’ve developed this mobile application,” he said during the launch event.

The huge trend among Indonesians to upload photos of recent moments to Facebook and Instagram was also behind the company developing the application, Kevin said, adding that his company had collaborated with the two social media apps.

“The application is connected to the systems of Facebook and Instagram, which enables users to print photos from those two social media apps as well,” he added.

Printerous is a printing marketplace that connects users to about 50 printing business online. The startup company offers printing services for business products such as name cards, and personal products such as photobook printing, with a flexibility to design and customize the printing on the website and mobile application.

Since the application’s soft launch four months ago the app has been downloaded 5,000 times from Google Play Store and Apple Store. (ecn/bbn, The Jakarta Post)
