Mobile operator company Telkomsel launched on Wednesday an innovation center to provide Internet of Things (IoT) laboratories, as well as mentoring and boot camp programs for startups, developers and system integrators with related industry players.
Telkomsel’s corporate planning vice president Andi Kristianto said the Telkomsel Innovation Center (TINC) was initiated to create an advanced IoT ecosystem that could support the creation of commercial products for the community.
“The TINC will be involved with the innovators such as startups, developers or system integrators, from the product development stage to promotions,” Andi said in a statement.
“The TINC also provides various other support, such as connectivity, phone cards, development kits and IoT lab facilities. Collaborations will further promote partnerships between innovators and Telkomsel that will generate new IoT product solutions for the community.”
The TINC is expected to be a platform for hundreds of innovators in the country.
In its initial incubation stage, the TINC developed a bike sharing scheme at the University of Indonesia (UI) in collaboration with Banopolis, an automatic fish feeder and aqua culture solution for farmers in partnership with eFishery and smart bin waste management in collaboration with SMASH.
